Christy and Daniel’s wedding was so beautiful! I shot my very first wedding with Christy so I was really excited and flattered to shoot hers. It’s always fun to work a wedding with a long time friend. Christy is an Art Director as well as a wedding photographer so every little detail was amazing! There were so many special touches! They got married on a site with two ponds and amazing gardens. Every where you looked it was stunning! I thought the best detail was how blinged out her bouquet was. I’ve never seen rhinestones in the bouquet before and I thought it was the best little personal touch. It was very Christy. :)
Check out her company, C9 Photography :)
I got an invite to the Your Wedding Day magazine launch held at Resturant Sevilla. I love any chance to go to Santa Barbara. The new issue looks amazing! I can’t wait to read the whole thing. Lots of great details in that magazine. I took Steve with me and we had a great time. After a few drinks & smoozing we left for a nice dinner just the two of us. Something relaxed & casual. I took him the nugget to for a nice burger ‘n fries ;) We sat in the presidental booth. Great date night :)
Today I had the opportunity of doing a pet portrait. My client just wanted a framed picture of his dogs for his wife’s birthday. So we got Rusty, Emily and Maggie out in the backyard for some photo action. All of the doggies were really excited about getting treats so we got some good begging pics. I love how we got a picture of all three dogs! What a challenge!
I wrapped everything up really nice for his wife. I thought it was a great gift idea!
I got the best email the next day:
Chelsea,
She loved it! There were many tears. Thanks very much. I’ll take a look at the blog.

Dear Chelsea,
Hi, I was the lucky recipient and I have to say it was THE VERY BEST gift I have ever received. I was a big sob fest. Thank you and please send me some cards for my friends.
Andi
It totally made my day!!!! :)
I was inspired to look back at past pet portraits I’ve done. Here is my own adorable cat Mattie. She loves laying on my lap while I’m processing pictures :)
A past pet portrait sitting for a cute little pug and boxer. The owner was cute too ;)
I’ve been looking forward to Andi & Ignacio’s engagement session for awhile. We planned on shooting in Santa Barbara and I just knew it would be awesome! Our first attempt we drove all the way up there and it started raining when we hit the rincon so we turned around. This time I couldn’t have asked for better lighting. We thought it would be gray but the light turned warm just as we hit lower state street. The warm light just lit up Andi’s face. She looked so beautiful. Andi & Ignacio were such naturals in front of the camera… I can’t wait to shoot their wedding later this summer at the Westlake Village Inn. To top the session off we got a beautiful sunset when we finished up at Sterns Wharf. I love Santa Barbara!

I had the opportunity to shoot a navy wedding with Beth Laney this weekend. I love military weddings! It’s so top gun! This is my second navy wedding and the sword ceremony is just the best. I feel like I’m in a movie every time.
Chrissy & greg got married at El Montecito Presbyterian Church and the reception was held at Santa Barbara Yacht Club. The sunset view at the yacht club was amazing. Both families were incredibly nice and made it a great event to photograph! The groom cut the cake with his sword… definitely one for the books :)
