Road Trip!

My best friend Karyn moved to Portland this week. I was sad to see her go. A road trip was definitly in order. I drove with her up to Oregon. We packed the dogs and headd North. We stopped in Napa and did some serious wine tasting. We got the list of dog friendly wineries and had a tons of fun. We stopped at Mumms, Cakebread, Merryvale and Bennett Lane. I got stocked up for a while. Then we headed up to Arcata so I could check out the old school. We stayed overnight in Brookings, Oregon. It was amazing! One of the highlights of the trip. I’m so glad I could drive Karyn up to Oregon. It as one of the best trips EVER!

Jennifer + David

Jennifer and David got married at the beautiful Firestone Winery this weekend in Los Olivos. Firestone is one of my favorite places for weddings. Jennifer looked so amazing in her dress in the vineyard. We got some great photographs in the courtyard, barrel room and  Firestone vineyard. With the vineyard and Santa Maria BBQ it was the best Santa Ynez wedding. The food was so good!!!  I just love wine country!  I really was honored to photography Jennifer and David’s wedding. They are a great pair! Congratulations!!!!

Rebecca from Duet Weddings did a fabulous job giving Jennifer and David the wedding they dreamed of!

Cafe Pinot + Maguire Gardens Wedding

I had the pleasure of photographing an amazing wedding for Jen Rau Saturday. The boys started at The Standard in LA. I love it. It’s so hip and modern. I need to come down there sometime just to hang out on the roof top bar. We did some getting ready shots and then headed down to Cafe Pinot. The ceremony was held in Maguire Gardens next door. It was another great event :)

Gary + Nathan

Saturday morning we did an early photo session with Gary and Nathan. We started at shutters and just worked our way down the beach. Santa Monica is so artsy you could just randomly walk the streets and allys forever and find great photo ops. I love it! My favorite was finding a perfect white wall with “ONE” on it. The font was perfect. Where else would you find such a perfect spot for a couple portrait? I had a great time with Gary and Nathan. Nathan’s such a ham for the camera! We’ll definitely have to do it again :)

Madrona Manor Wedding

I joined Jen Rau for her wedding at the Madrona Manor in Healdsburg, Sonoma. The wedding was a trip back in time to the 1920’s. The manor is practically a musuem. All the bridesmaids and ushers were dressed perfectly to match the theme. They must have worked so hard getting every detail right on this wedding and it really paid off! I’m so glad I got to work with Jen on this wedding. Being in wine country was a just an added bonus! :)

Audrey + Martin

Audrey and Martin got married in the Ventura Keys on Saturday. Martin’s Grandma has a huge lot next to her house and it was perfect for a Hawaiian wedding. They imported tons of sand to convert this blank canvas into a beachy paradise. For portraits we headed down to the Ventura Pier to make the beach experience complete. Such perfect sunny day for a beach wedding. Now we can celebrate the same day every year… thier Anniversary and My Bday! I’d rather celebrate an accomplishment then me getting older ;)

Congrats Audrey and Martin!

Birthday Pancakes

Jen made me the best oatmeal pancakes this morning for my breakfast! It was the perfect birthday treat. I’ve been featured on her kitchen blog. You have to check it out! They were the best! Thanks Jen :)

Kitchen Perfectionist

whole grain oatmeal pancakes

1 cup whole wheat flour

1 cup old-fashioned oats

1/4 cup wheat germ

1/4 cup instant nonfat dry milk

powder

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1 teaspoon baking soda

2 eggs

2 cups buttermilk

1/4 cup vegetable oil

In a large bowl, combine dry ingredients. In another bowl, beat eggs, buttermilk and oil; mix well. Stir into dry ingredients just until blended. Refrigerate overnight and then bring to room temperature before cooking the next morning. Pour onto a lightly greased hot griddle; turn when bubbles form on top of pancakes. Cook until second side is golden.
