I just finished ordering my sample album of Jennifer and David’s amazing wedding at Firestone Winery in Los Olivos. This winery is amazing! The weather in August up in Santa Ynez is perfect. We took some images in the Firestone barrel room as well as out in the Vineyard. The reception was held outside in the Firestone winery courtyard under the stars. It was perfection! For the album I wanted a cover that felt modern and vintage at the same time. I designed the cover in a distressed sepia to be printed on a metal cover. The accent leather is going to be a “biker chic”, which is a really nice blend between black and dark brown. I wanted to keep the album design clean and simple. Please enjoy the samples!
Wow! 2008 was such a great year! Looking back I had some amazing couples who had some fabulous weddings. Thanks to all my Chelsea Elizabeth Photography clients for inspiring these art pieces. I selected some of my favorite images from my 2008 weddings to provide a year end review. You’ll see some variety from getting ready, details, portraits and photojournalistic moments. I’d like to say I’m a photojournailst, but I’m really such a blend. I love it all! Each part of your day is so important, from every detail to every guest. I believe the role of the wedding photographer is to capture these memories not only for the bride and groom, but for future generations. It’s not just about the vows, commitments and details… it’s also about getting together and celebrating with family and friends. I love witnessing the moments between guests that can’t be scripted or planned, and when captured create a priceless piece of art that will be handed down from generation to generation. This is why I do what I do and feel so honored to make a living at it.

Every year I get together with some amazing photographers and good friends for an annual photography convention. We listen to some amazing speakers during the day and have great networking functions at night. Sometimes we even manage to squeeze in some portrait sessions. This year the conference was in Carefree, Arizona. The landscape was absolutely beautiful! We headed out into the dessert with some video lights and pocket wizards and had fun experimenting. I didn’t take my flash with me so all of these are taken with natural light. Here are just a few of my favorite images.
I love this, we were just standing on this dirt road and I saw UPS drive up. I asked Kris to stick her thumb up… the next thing we know he’s pulling over and Kris is jumping in. It was hilarious!!!!

I had a fabulous time playing with Rena and Geoff for their engagement session! We started out at the Taj Cafe in Ventura because that is where Geoff proposed to Rena. We wanted a urban feel so we walked around downtown and explored some alley’s. I just love the new Watermark Resturant. The architecture is AMAZING! I grew up in Ventura and every time I head back downtown I’m surprised by all the new improvements. Ventura is getting so hip!

I’m doing some headshots for Wellpoint. Steve, being the fabulous husband that he is, helped me out with some prep. Yeah! So I headed out today and scouted the location. Here are some of my favorite pictures of Steve. Some obviously not corporate, but since I had him there I had some fun! Isn’t he handsome :)
And here’s the final version for the corporate headshots!
Jenny and Pakin’s wedding album design is ready! I had such a fun time designing this album. They had the brilliant idea to get married in Maui and have their reception at home. This album is just for the reception. We did some amazing portraits at Pasadena City Hall and the headed over to 888 Seafood resturant for the reception. I love clean simple album design. No keylines or crazy colored backgrounds. Just something classic that will still look good 25 years from now.
Tis the season for catching up on all my blog posts!
I’m just thrilled that more of my images have been featured on the Wedding Party blog. Wedding Party is a great site that features wedding photographers across the nation. Check out some fun images from my winter portrait sessions!
