Congratulations to the Arce Family!
I want to thank everyone who entered the contest. I wish I had the time to do a portrait session for everyone! There were so many families that need help this year but Kim’s email really stood out to me. I can’t wait to shoot her Family and give her some portraits that have some life, movement and energy in them!
In Kim’s words: They say that pictures are worth a thousand words, or that pictures freeze a memory or a moment in time. In our case, our family doesn’t have time on our hands. My husband has a rare genetic disorder that is slowly crippling him — walking is a chore for him — let alone standing still. Our moments are precious and numbered. I want Caleb to know what his father is capable of in case our someday comes and he is in a wheelchair. Chelsea captures so much love, fun and energy in her photos. I know she is full of energy – or at least she was full of energy in college. I want to be able to have that special memory on our walls – that captures the heart of our family – that can capture the special bond that is made between husband and wife, parents and child, that makes each and every day worth it.
It was such a pleasure photographing my friend Asha & Stanley’s wedding! I was sooo glad I could be part of their day. Asha looked sooo beautiful! She’s giving Princess Jasmine a run for her money ;) I love getting ready at the Westlake Village Inn because it just has so many great places to get ready and take portraits. I loved the blue jewel tones in the bride’s maids gowns and the white calla lilies. Here’s my favorites from the Westlake Village Inn, more from the St. Max wedding in the next post!

I love taking family portraits. I was so happy to see that Simple Mom used one of my images for her article on how to take great family portraits. She gives nine great tips on what to factor in when taking your family portraits. This is great for the holiday season and perfect timing with my holiday mini-sessions. Book for family portrait today. i still have 3 dates open in November! You’ll love these family photos for your Christmas cards! The image that simple mom featured was from one of my mini-sessions last year.

The Turnip Rose, Grand Newport Plaza, is such a great place to hold a wedding ceremony. I just love the Grand Staircase and the big rod iron gate. Prima and Jack had such a wonderful wedding ceremony and reception. It was such a beautiful Costa Mesa evening. I love that blue sky at twilight. Congratulations Prima & Jack!

I love how the bridal party jumped in the picture… that was not a scripted moment!
I just loved Jack and Prima’s engagement album and how they used it as a sign in book!

Araxi took these fabulous getting ready images!
Lauren and Matt were the last couple to get married at Ranchos De Las Flores in Somis. I think they went out with a bang! The ceremony, portraits and reception were so beautiful! I thought Lauren looked absolutely gorgeous! I loved her hair and her eyes really popped! Ranchos de las flores in on the top of a hill behind Camarillo and gets such amazing light. We really had fun shooting some golden hour portraits. Of course I always love a reception lit by Chinese lanterns!
Justine got this great image of Lauren and her Dad about to walk down the aisle!
This year has been such a good year I’d love to give back. I’m giving away one mini-session this year. The lucky winner will receive a complimentary “Christmas Card” package. Please enter here and tell me why you’d love a portrait session! Deadline to enter is 10.14.09. Winner will be announced on the blog 10.15.09.
Note: I’ll be determining the winner based on who really needs some extra help this holiday. Existing Chelsea Elizabeth clients, family & friends are not eligible.
Prima and Jack had one of my favorite engagement sessions. I just love the pink wall and downtown Pasadena setting they chose for their portrait session. For their wedding they ordered a sign in album and canvas gallery wrap. I just had to show you how fabulous they turned out!

I had such a pleasure photographing Christine and Chris’s wedding! Christine and Chris were married at St. Maximiliian Kolbe Catholic Church followed by a reception at Malibou Lake Mountain Club. Christine and Chris have such a great sense of humor. I loved watching them laugh throughout the day. I know they are going to be very happy!!
