Alexis & Kyle married at the Camarillo Ranch House. If your looking for an awesome red barn for your wedding reception it’s perfect! Love this adorable couple and the details about their wedding!! It was as beautiful as it was fun. The Fireball really did get the party started! We had a chance to ask Alexis a few questions about her wedding. Hope you enjoy them!
Q. We asked Alexis, the bride, about her inspiration while planning the wedding. We love their style and the colors she collaborated.
A. Country-glam says it all ! My colors are a mint/teal with peachy pink and gray (girls in mint long dresses…guys in gray pants & vest with white shirts – no jackets…and pink/peach/white flowers). We used wine barrels as the bar with a door for the top as well as cocktail tables, having tables for seating but no arrangements, a big dance floor, buffet food set up – most likely woodranch bbq, some stationed appetizers for cocktail hour, a candy bar, chandeliers and maybe some drapery, simple flower arrangements inside the barn, some games outside for the guests to play right after the ceremony, wood/chalkboard signs hung to direct guests.
Q. Who doesn’t love a good love story? Alexis shares the details on how they met and how Kyle proposed.
A. Kyle and I went to high school together. We had classes together and mutual friends but never dated. We reconnected 6 years later, after college, after a mutual friends wedding in August 2009. We went out for drinks and hit it off right away…haven’t spent many days away from each other since. We’ve become best friends and have a fun relationship with close friends and family who we spend most of our time doing anything for. We’ve been through a few career changes and Kyle owning his own business but now he is in commercial real estate going on a few years and I’m in the pet industry where I plan trade shows. He COMPLETELY caught me off guard memorial day weekend when he proposed. I had been traveling a lot for work and he planned a wine tasting weekend (which we do all the time anyways) in Solvang. I still have NO idea how he kept it such a secret because we had never even looked at rings. He proposed at my favorite winery – Firestone – where he reserved the terrace overlooking the vineyards (and my naiive self didn’t even realize it was reserved for US until after he proposed…I thought he was sneaking us into someone else’s romantic set up).
Q. Where did you get your dress? Tell us about the attire of the wedding.
A. My favorite items are my shoes…that have rhinestone covered heels & my sister is making me a rhinestone garter which will be really special and i’m IN LOVE with my dress from David’s Bridal. Everything came together so easily when I was shopping and I instantly fell in love with this dress (the 3rd one I tried on and first one I asked for…and I stayed in it for 3 hours at david’s bridal walking around and dancing up and down the aisles in it)
My ring was made by kyle’s dad’s friend who is a jeweler and he picked it out all by himself and it’s so stunning.
The guys are wearing custom made suits from Kyle’s tailor who is in Thailand. He came out and measured the guys to fit them with matching pants and vests…so they can keep them and wear them in the future. Kyle’s suit was also made by this tailor and has a gorgeous blue lining.
