I was so excited that the sun came out for a few hours for Michele and Kurt’s wedding!  I know it’s good luck for it to rain on your wedding day, but I was so excited that they got some portriats on the Manhattan beach pier! The girls got ready at the Belamar hotel.  I love the modern decor of the hotel and the blue matched Michele’s details perfectly! The ceremony was held at American Martyrs Catholic Church in Manhattan Beach.  Stay tuned for the amazing reception pictures from La Venta Inn next week!

Meghan took some amazing groomsmen portraits in this bar. The guys started off the day right!

I had the pleasure of photographing this amazing wedding for the extremely talented Meghan Aileen.  This was such a beautiful wedding mixed with modern details and rich in tradition.  The getting ready and reception was held at the Pasadena Westin hotel.  The church and portraits were taken at the neighborhood church in Pasadena.  My favorite part was the lion dance!  There is nothing like experiencing your first lion dance with a face full of lettuce!!!! I loved it!

It’s wedding season and brides all over are planning their weddings. I thought I’d blog some of my favorite wedding details shots of 2009.  I love all the details!!! The dress, the shoes, the flowers, centerpieces, rings and more… luv it!!!!  I really appreciate all the thought and time that goes into picking out the details and what a representation their personal style.  As you can see they are all so beautiful and all so different. Pick something that makes you love and makes you feel fabulous!

Last year I added engagement sessions to all of my wedding packages just because I think they are that important.  I am so glad that I did!  I love these sessions! It gives the couple an opportunity to just be themselves. There are no guests waiting for them… no timelines or expectations.. no clothes they are afraid to get dirty… These sessions are just couples having fun getting awesome pictures to celebrate being engaged!  I love how each couple picks a location that reflects a little bit of who they are.  Have fun with it! Bring props! Pick out a fabulous outfit! It’s such good practice for the big day!  It’s not every day you dress up and play supermodel ;)  The engagement session gives us a change to get to know each other better.  Through this session I get to know what poses work and which don’t.  After all … some couples rock the serious looks and others just need to laugh.  After all, each couple is different.  I love showing up to a wedding after all the guests have seen the engagement pictures.  And on the wedding day you don’t have to feel akward in these poses.. you’ve been through it already ;)  Here are some of my favorite images from each engagement session I photographed this year. I second shot this amazing wedding for Meghan Aileen at the amazing Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes.  It was such a beautiful day.  I just love the Terranea resoert.  I felt like I was in Cabo for a destination wedding. The hotel is just as chic on the inside as the ocean views are gorgeous!
