Adorable couple, Brianne & Jeff had so much fun at their wedding held at the Camarillo Ranch House during the summer month of August 2014. It was a surprise to the 200 guests to have the father of the bride officiate the wedding and marry his daughter :) So sweet!
Q. Tell us more about you! We love hearing stories of how you met, fell in love & got engaged?
A. (From the bride) So we actually met at a bar!! :) But I believe it was fate for us to meet that night. We were both forced to go out by our friends. I was training for a marathon at the time and had ran 19 miles that morning and was not feeling like dancing the night away. Jeff was actually suppose to hang out with another girl that night but was guilt tripped by his roommates to go out with them. My friend was actually the one who randomly introduced me to Jeff and we definitely had a connection. The next day he texted me right away and we planned our first date. I went over to his house and he cooked me dinner. I was a little apprehensive at first since I assumed he was just like every other guy, but I like how he always challenged me. We were a perfect match before I even knew it. As we continued to date, it was evident that we were 100% made for each other. We got engaged on 4/5/13 after about a year and a half of dating. He was suppose to fly out of LAX for a basketball game in Atlanta and I was to drop him off at the airport. Afterwards, I drove down to Orange County to spend the day with my mom and later met my best friend and Aunt for drinks at Parkers Lighthouse in the Long Beach Harbor. We were sitting outside and before i knew it Jeff came walking down the stairs of the lighthouse playing the guitar. As he got closer he began singing the song he wrote me for Christmas. When he finished the song, he got down on one knee and proposed. Of course I said yes!! We had a full restaurant give us a standing ovation and I felt like I was in a movie. We then walked over to the Yardhouse where the rest of our families were. We had a room decorated in our honor and we toasted champagne to “Love”.
Q. Tell us more about what’s inspired your wedding theme. What style are you going for. Do you have one detail that is setting the style for your wedding? What are your colors? What’s your favorite decor item?
A. Well…one of the important details that I really wanted for my wedding was to have the reception in a barn. For whatever reason, I feel like the barn at the Camarillo Ranch was the perfect place for me to celebrate our marriage. I love that the barn creates a more casual environment where people can let loose and enjoy themselves. I guess I would describe my style as a vintage, rustic elegance. We will be having very vintage colors (peach, mint, ivory, etc.) but mixing it with a little glam (glitter) and a little rustic (the barn). Definitely our centerpieces are something that I think will represent our theme well. They will be mason jars decorated with glitter, burlap, lace and candles. Each mason jar will be hand decorated and each jar will be different. All of our decor will be DIY and I am hoping it will create an ambiance where people can feel the love between me and my fiancé. I want people to feel comfortable but glamorous. I’m not sure what piece of decor will be my favorite since we are still in the process of making my ideas a reality but I can assure you that each piece will be made with love and dedication.
