I love that have the opportunity to capture couples wedding day and I love even more when that couple comes back to me to capture their new family :) I shot Heidi and Edwards wedding almost 4 years ago. Now they have welcomed Baby girl Kayla into the world and I had the pleasure of shooting this newborn session. We shot this session at the family’s home in Moorpark, California.
We also asked Heidi and Edward a few questions :)
Q. How do you know Chelsea?
A. We chose Chelsea to be our engagement and wedding photographer when we got married 4 years ago. And we loved her work! We’ve stayed in touch through Facebook. We love watching Stella and Braedon’s antics and our shared love for Disney!
We love this nursery! How amazingly cute is this decor? Baby Kayla is one lucky little girl. In fact, I want this nursery chair in my house ;) Love the grey, coral and blue colors.
Q. Please tell us about your stylish nursery :) Where did you get your inspiration for the colors, design & decor? Where did you find that awesome chair & the crib bedding?
A. I loved the colors coral and aqua and knew that would be the theme for the nursery. So I took to Pinterest and found some ideas, like the pattern for the accent wall. Edward and I love to do DIY projects and there were plenty in the nursery! We bought the dresser/changing table off of Craigslist and painted it ourselves. And although the crib sheet is from Pottery Barn kids, Edward made the crib skirt himself!
Sweet baby girl’s toes!
Look at that innocent face! She is so darling in that big pink bow.
Q. What inspired you to do this newborn photo session?
A. We had our first child and wanted to take newborn photos. We already knew how great Chelsea was to work with and how much we loved her work. So she was the obvious choice to do the session!
There is no better feeling that watching your baby sleep!
Newborn snuggles are the best!! Love this sweet shot.
Q. What do you plan to do with your images?
A. We plan to put detail pictures (hands, feet, etc) in the frame above her changing table to complete the nursery. We would also like to display some of our first family pictures somewhere else in the house!
