Rancho Sol Del Pacifico Wedding

I love, love, love everything about this wedding! The couple, the venue, the guests, and the vendors!  It’s weddings like this that just remind me why I love what I do!

Q. We would love to hear details about you two.

A. We met my junior year and his senior year at USC, in a nerdy web-coding class. It was his semester goal to ask me out, and he obviously succeeded :) Our first date, he picked me up in his little white Toyota convertible and took me to a café, where we talked for hours. From there, he walked me to class each day and we grew closer and closer. Since then, we both graduated and have been working, spending time outdoors, and focusing on building community in Los Angeles as it becomes our permanent home.

Q. Tell us about the planning of the wedding and describe the details that make your wedding unique.

A.  Josh and I love views and nature, so it’s special for us to be getting married in a location with beautiful views. It’s also perhaps the only time we’ll be able to have all of our loved ones together in the same place who have supported us to get where we are! As far as personal moments, we are doing a Greek dance to transition from our “first dances” into the party, which is significant because that’s my family heritage, and everyone will likely join in to form a large dancing circle. Josh’s dad is a Christian pastor, so he will be marrying us which is significant as well. We’re more or less having our ideal wedding… a beautiful location with views, all the people we love together, and to be getting to spend forever together was really our dream! Everything else feels a bit like extra credit. Our first dance, is  to a John Legend song written by Josh’s boss and mentor as a way of honoring him. Our party favors are handmade notes thanking everyone for their role in Josh and my relationship and getting it to where it is.

Q. What inspired your wedding theme and style?  Do you have one detail that is setting the style for your wedding? What are your colors? What’s your favorite decor item?

A. Our wedding style is modern, clean, natural, and epic. The location itself is beautiful, so we’re not doing too many decorations. The colors are white, sage green, and wood. There are horse stables, a pantheon, a tower, a pool, and a lawn. The bridesmaid dresses are full length sage green, and the men will be in tuxes. My mom has a great eye and is doing most of the flower arranging and centerpieces. They are green and white bouquets wrapped in sheet music, some wood candles made from wood on my mom’s ranch, and mini chalkboard table numbers. My bouquet is was professionally done and each flower is symbolically very important to me. The flowers are gardenias, succulents, white roses, and lilies. In addition, we had a large chocolate fountain as our main dessert item, but are also had a lovely, tiny, two-tiered “wood” looking cake with Lucy and Schroeder playing the piano on top. It’s only 9 inches in diameter at its largest. Josh is a composer, and I work in the music side of business, and we met in USC getting our undergraduate degrees in Music Business. As a result, we are used antique sheet music for several of our decorations. The palm trees in the courtyard are wrapped in Christmas lights and classic white hanging bulbs from the ceiling.
