I headed out to Austin, Texas to visit my friend Rita. It was an awesome mini-vacation. Austin is the capitol of live music and I loved the warm welcome in the airport. Live blues in the bar as soon as you got of the plane! We went out on a Tuesday and there was live music everywhere. I wish I could have stayed for the weekend. South Congress is such a great place to live. Here are some images of the capitol building. We had a toddler that was such a energetic tour guide!
Here’s part 2 of Colleen and Brian’s fabulous Lake Michigan wedding. I had the pleasure of second shooting for my friend J.C. Carley. This was full of personal touches and tons of fun! These two sure do know how to have a good time! For a destination wedding they really did show their guests a good time!
Here’s is Colleen & Brian’s amazing tent!
I just love Colleen’s Callalilly Vera Wang gown!
Here enters Band #1!
They really rocked out during their first dance!
Here’s band #2!
Love these portraits on the beach! Notice the dress is shortened!
I love how peaceful Lake Michigan feels even with a storm coming in.
Here it the amazing tent at dusk!
Have I mentioned how much I love this tent!
Here’s a 70′s cover band for band #3
Here’s part 1 of Colleen and Brian’s fabulous Lake Michigan wedding. I had the pleasure of second shooting for my friend J.C. Carley. There are so many amazing images that I wanted to blog it just wouldn’t fit in one post! Colleen got ready at her parent’s house on Lake Michigan. I love the green walls and orange vents! They added so much color to her getting ready images. Her Callalilly Vera Wang dress is fabulous!!! She had it altered so that it zips into a cocktail dress! Wait for Part 2 to see this sexy number! The ceremony was at St. Ann of the Dune’s church.
I had the best time second shooting my my friend J.C. Carley for her wedding on Lake Michigan. We started off the weekend shooting Colleen and Brian’s rehearsal dinner at The Tree House. Now this is my kind of place! Totally chill and kick back… this bar is actually built around a tree. It reminds me of Papa’s and Beer but family style. The back of the bar has live music, volleyball nets and picnic tables. I love the decor of the tree house. As you can see I’m totally obsessed with these doors! I’m so grateful for JC for letting me tag along for this fabulous destination wedding!
Did I mention how cool it was to stay at the blue chip casino? It’s a floating casino!
here I am with JC :)
The day I’ve been waiting for ever since JC told me she booked a wedding in Florida had finally arrived!!!! I was sooooo excited to shoot with her and at the Don Cesar!
The Don is such a beautiful hotel. The architecture was just amazing. What more can I say…. tons of fun!!!
I has a blast second shooting for JC in Florida. Kim and Kevin’s rehearsal started off at the Don Cesar for the rehearsal and then back to the Sirata for the dinner. Such a fun group of people to hang out in Florida with :)
JC shooting away :)
I love these sunglasses :)
I had the best time photographing Ashley’s day after beach session. It’s always fun shooting in new places but I was really excited to shoot in Florida. We did our session at the Sirata in Florida. Ashley was so much fun and so sweet. She gave JC and I lots of inspiration. It was so hot I can’t tell you how badly I wanted to jump in the pool with her!
Tuesday night Mark and Jason planned a trash the dress session for the entire group. They gathered 11 brides/grooms for us to photograph. Our group has a news crew with us for the entire shoot covering the event. It was awesome! Our bride was up for anything and tons of fun. She was so beautiful! The event was on the news here and in the newspaper the next morning. I can’t wait to see all the great art that came out of the event.
Go visit the “Trash the Dress” site! It’s not about trashing the dress just to trash it. We love to create beautiful images in a fun environment and just aren’t afraid to get a little dirty in the process.
