Yesterday I had the pleasure of doing a family photo session for Cher, Judy and Joseph. We all met up in Ojai. Judy works at the Ojai Valley Inn & Spa so we thought it would be fun and fitting to shoot at the Ojai Valley Inn. We had a great time playing in the herb garden and at the friendship tree. The lighting was beautiful! I couldn’t asked for any better. Of course Cher and Joseph were cracking me up! What a bunch of class clowns! Laugh a minute :) hehehe
Afterwards we all went out to dinner. Thanks for dinner Joseph!!!
Today I had the opportunity of doing a pet portrait. My client just wanted a framed picture of his dogs for his wife’s birthday. So we got Rusty, Emily and Maggie out in the backyard for some photo action. All of the doggies were really excited about getting treats so we got some good begging pics. I love how we got a picture of all three dogs! What a challenge!
I wrapped everything up really nice for his wife. I thought it was a great gift idea!
I got the best email the next day:
Chelsea,
She loved it! There were many tears. Thanks very much. I’ll take a look at the blog.
Mike
Dear Chelsea,
Hi, I was the lucky recipient and I have to say it was THE VERY BEST gift I have ever received. I was a big sob fest. Thank you and please send me some cards for my friends.
Andi
It totally made my day!!!! :)
I was inspired to look back at past pet portraits I’ve done. Here is my own adorable cat Mattie. She loves laying on my lap while I’m processing pictures :)
A past pet portrait sitting for a cute little pug and boxer. The owner was cute too ;)
Work hard, play hard!
Today Steve and I took the day off to play! We were going to take the boat sailing but it was really overcast. So we decided to head up north and go wine tasting in Santa Barbara! I love spending the day just hanging out and going places I’ve never been before. We played tourist in Santa Barbara. I’ve always wanted to have Breakfast at Sambos. I lived in Santa Barbara for 3 years and never did. It was the best place to have breakfast. The omelette’s and pancakes were super yummy. We got a really nice table right on Cabrillo avenue with a perfect ocean view.
After breakfast we headed up to Santa Ynez. I’ve really wanted to go back on foxen canyon road. We tried to find Bedford Thompson, but my map was from 2003 and a lot has changed since Sideways came out! Our first stop was Foxen. It was a really charming tasting room off the beaten path. We bought a bottle of 2003 Cuvee Jeanne Marie. After that we headed up to a larger vineyard, Rancho Sisquoc Winery. I didn’t realize Rancho Sisquoc was so big! I must have been in a blended wine mood because again I chose a red table wine. We picked up a couple of bottles of the 2005 Sisquoc River Red. For our last tasting we visited the Epiphany Tasting Room in Los Olivos. The wine & chocolate were great! We got a bottle of the 2004 Revelation & Tessa Marie Coquette. I’m still stunned that a 16 year old can make such a good bottle of wine. Watch out for her! I’m sure she’ll make more fabulous wines in the years to come.
Here’s a great guide to wine tasting in Santa Barbara County: Santa Barbara Wine Guide
To finish up a fabulous day off I had some of the girls over for Arbonne & massages! I loved everything I had to get the anti-aging spa pack & tons of make up! If you need to stock up on your Arbonne or want to throw a party contact Eileen! She’s great!
Wine tasting with my boyfriend and girls night! What a perfect day! :)
We had a fabulous New Year’s Eve celebration at Eucalyptus Lane. I love the site so much. It’s one of my favorites. The barn is just so special! I’m so glad that Kate got us the special invite for new year’s. Best party ever!
Since it was a holiday I just took my camera and no flash… here was a nice attempt for a long exposure ;)
Happy Holidays from Chelsea Elizabeth Photography! I just love getting Christmas cards from friends that booked family portraits for the holidays. It makes my day! Opening the mail feels like opening Christmas presents. I’ve included some of my favorites! Thank you so much for including the photos I took on your cards to send out to all of your family and friends! May your 2007 be fabulous! :) Chelsea
I just love photographing Sophie! :) She’s so cute! I got the studio ready for Christmas. The tree looks beautiful. Christmas is my favorite time of the year. Sophie had so much fun taking all the ordiments off the tree. We had rudolph to play with as well, but in the end it’s always Daddy that puts a big smile on her face!
Today we went up to Avila Farms to pick out some pumpkins. It was an absolute blast. There was a big pumpkin patch, hayrides, hot cider, barrels of fruit and a maze. The kids loved it! I think I found a new autumn tradition! Afterwards we went to Avila Beach for lunch. It’s the cutest town ever! Love it! :)

I got the girls together for some wine and modeling, fun was had by all. We tested out the new lights in the new studio. Karyn even brought her dogs over later for some family pics. I had an absolute blast in my new studio. I can’t wait to shoot more portraits. If anyone wants to come over for a sitting don’t hesitate to contact me! :)
Comments from Karyn: Chelsea is an extremely talented, creative, innovative photographer. She is also very pleasant to work with. I am continually amazed at how she is able to capture her subjects, exposing their most poignant qualities. Add to that the fact that she is a lot of fun to work with and you have all the components of a fabulous photographer!

Steve took me to Maui for my birthday and our three year anniversary. We had such a fabulous time! Maui is officially my favorite Hawaiian island. We had a week full of snorkling, 4x4ing, sailing, eating, Road to Hana, Sunset dinner cruise and more. I can’t wait to go back!
